ITV1’s Dancing on Ice dominated the Sunday night ratings for a second week running, pulling in a high of almost nine million peak viewers.
The second and last preliminary show, which saw another two contestants get voted off by the public, attracted 8.2 million average viewers and a 30.8% share between 6.35pm and 8.30pm last night.
Once again, viewers stayed tuned to ITV1 for the new series of Wild at Heart, which aired between Dancing on Ice and the ‘Skate Off‘ results show. The hour-long drama, which stars Stephen Tompkinson and Dawn Steele, secured 7.3 million viewers and a 26.8% average share between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
Meanwhile, more than seven million viewers kept watching to see the results of this week’s public vote. Craig McLachlan and Elen Rivas were voted off ahead of next week’s competition, which will see the judges decide who stays and who goes from now on.
ITV1’s Sunday night line-up stole the limelight from BBC One’s schedule, although Countryfile and Lark Rise to Candleford both attracted a decent 6.5 million viewers each. The last in the series of detective programme Zen lagged behind, picking up 4.3 million viewers during the 9pm to 10.30pm slot.
Elsewhere, the Masters Snooker coverage on BBC Two banked 1.7 million viewers, while Gordon Ramsay: Shark Bait secured more than two million viewers for Channel 4.
On Saturday, it was BBC One’s turn to shine. The channel’s line-up dominated the ratings for most of the day, with Final Score, Total Wipeout and The Magicians proving popular among viewers during the early-evening slots.
From 8pm onwards, the National Lottery pulled in 6.1 million viewers; Casualty picked up 5.9 million viewers; and Come Fly with Me settled on 3.1 million viewers.
ITV1’s Saturday night line-up, meanwhile, included Primeval, Take Me Out and Benidorm. Paddy’s dating show Take Me Out achieved the highest ratings with 4.1 million peak viewers and a 16.4% average share.
