ITV1 secured an impressive peak run during yesterday evening’s line-up with Dancing on Ice and Wild at Heart.
The first Dancing on Ice show, which saw the remaining 11 contestants skate to various 1970s hits, attracted a high of more than 9.1 million viewers and a 30.5% average audience share between 6.15am and 8.30pm.
Wild at Heart followed with a slightly lower 6.7 million peak viewers and a 24.2% audience share during the 8.30pm to 9.30pm slot, before the Dancing on Ice Skate Off, which also pulled in 6.7 million peak viewers and a 24.8% audience share between 9.30pm and 10pm.
ITV1’s peak run saw off competition from BBC One’s Lark Rise to Candleford and the channel’s new seven part series Seven Ages of Britain, as well as Channel 4’s all-new Celebrity Come Dine with Me and Mo.
Lark Rise to Candleford, which stars Julia Sawalha and Linda Bassett, picked up 6.2 million average viewers and a 22.6% share between 8pm to 9pm. Seven Ages of Britain with David Dimbleby followed with 4.2 million average viewers and a 15.6% share during the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour.
Meanwhile, Channel 4’s new series of Celebrity Come Dine with me, with Jan Leeming, David Spinx, Donal MacIntyre and Javine Hylton, attracted 2.3 million average viewers and a 8.5% audience share between 8pm and 9pm.
The channel’s special one-off drama Mo, with Julie Walters as Mo Mowlam, followed with 3.2 million average viewers and a 14.1% audience share between 9pm and 11.10pm.
Elsewhere, BBC Two’s The Great Rift: Africa’s Wild Heart picked up 1.8 million viewers and a 6.7% share between 9pm and 10pm, while Five’s film premiere of Vacancy secured a lower one million viewers and 4.4% share between 9pm and 10.45pm.
