TV Overnights: Football outshines BBC One’s new Five Days drama

ITV1’s coverage of the Live International Football scored a high of more than 9.5 million viewers during prime time last night.

The international friendly, which ended 3-1 to England, attracted 7.6 million average viewers and a 31.5% audience share between 7.30pm and 10.10pm, knocking BBC One’s new five-part drama off the top spot.

The third episode of BBC One’s Five Days, which is due to conclude this Friday, pulled in 6.1 million peak viewers and a 22.8% average share between 9pm and 10pm, after Masterchef‘s high of 4.4 million peak viewers during the pre-watershed 8pm to 9pm slot.

Elsewhere, BBC Two’s period drama Becoming Jane, with Anne Hathaway and Julie Walters, picked up 1.5 million peak viewers and a 5% average audience share between 8pm and 9.55pm.

Over on Channel 4, Kirstie and Phil’s ever-popular Relocation Relocation banked a high of more than 2.7 million viewers and a 10.1% average share between 8pm and 9pm, before Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA pulled in 1.3 million peak viewers and a 4.8% share between 9pm and 10pm.

Five’s peak-hour slot was taken up by NCIS, meanwhile, which picked up 2.1 million peak viewers and a 7.4% share.
