TV Overnights: I’m a Celeb wins peak spot with 8.3m viewers

ITV1’s latest I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continued with a peak audience of more than 8.3 million viewers last night.

The hour-long update from the Australian jungle secured the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour top spot with eight million average viewers and a 31.7% audience share.

ITV1’s new series started on Sunday night with a debut audience of more than 11.4 million peak viewers.

Last night, its nearest rival – BBC One’s Turn Back Time – The High Street – pulled in a smaller average audience (4.6 million viewers) and a 18.1% share during the all-important peak-hour, while Channel 5’s CSI Miami banked third place with 1.7 million viewers and a 6.8% share.

Over on BBC Two, the latest Horizon: Deepwater Disaster pulled in 1.1 million average viewers and a 4.7% share, while an average audience of just over a million viewers tuned in to Channel 4 for the new series of The Family. This time round, the fly-on-the-wall documentary series will focus on a black British family living in Hackney, east London.

Earlier on in the evening, BBC One secured a peak-run with The One Show, Eastenders and Holby City. Out of the three, Eastenders attracted the highest audience with 7.2 million peak viewers.
