TV Overnights: I’m a Celebrity continues its reign

I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!

ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! scored high with the ratings last night, averaging 8.3 million viewers and 33% of the audience share across both ITV1 and ITV1 HD channels.

The hour and a half long show started at 8pm and peaked an impressive 9.4 million viewers at 9.15pm.

The Soap’s all faired well; ITV1’s Emmerdale averaged 6.6 million viewers at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street that peaked with 8 million viewers and 34% of the audience share in the 8pm slot.

BBC One’s Eastenders however saw a loss of 2 million viewers compared to the previous Wednesday nights figures, where it dropped from an average 8 million viewers to 6.2 million in its 7.30pm slot.

In the 9pm slot BBC One aired the first episode in the new series The Manor Reborn, in which a team of historians and experts set out to renovate a Manor House in Wiltshire. The show averaged 3.8 million viewers at the peak time slot, holding 15% of the audience share.

Over on BBC Two, Masterchef: The Professionals reached its half way mark in the new series, reaching an average of 2.6 million viewers in the 8pm slot. At 9pm comedy show Rev picked up 1.3 million viewers followed by Ricky Gervais’ new mockumentary Life’s too Short, which dropped to 1.2 million viewers compared to its 1.4 million the previous week.

Channel 5’s 9pm slot saw US drama The Mentalist pick up 1.4 million viewers.

Channel 4’s 8pm slot aired the final instalment of Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare, which peaked at 1.4 million viewers. This was followed by a new series called Living with the Amish, where a group of teenagers join Amish communities to learn about their way of life.
