ITV1’s popular dating series Take Me Out ended on a high of 5.5 million peak viewers on Saturday night, securing the all-important prime time ratings.
In the earlier 7.20pm to 8.35pm slot, Ant & Dec’s Push the Button banked 5.9 million peak viewers and a 23.3% average share, before Paddy McGuiness’ final Take Me Out secured over 5 million viewers and a 21.7% share between 8.35pm and 10.05pm.
ITV1 also put in a good performance on Sunday evening. Dancing on Ice attracted more than 8.4 million peak viewers and a 30.2% average share between 6.40pm and 8.30pm.
However, BBC One was the overall winner of the weekend, dominating the ratings throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday.
The channel’s Live Six Nations Rugby Union coverage was a popular choice on Saturday – the Scotland v Italy game pulled in more than 3.6 million peak viewers, while the Ireland v England game picked up over 7.7 million peak viewers.
On Sunday, The Weakest Link, Bargain Hunt and Escape to the Country filled the day-time schedule, while Antiques Roadshow, Waking the Dead and Comic Relief Highlights led the evening ratings.
Antiques Roadshow provided the highest numbers of the day for BBC One, peaking with more than 7.9 million viewers and a 26.4% average audience share.
