ITV1’s UEFA Champions League Live coverage pulled in the highest ratings during prime time last night, peaking with more than 6.7 million viewers.
The match, which saw Manchester United secure a 2-1 Group B victory over Wolfsburg, pulled in over 5.4 million average viewers and a 25.3% audience share between 7.30pm and 10pm.
However, BBC One’s new two-part documentary series The Secret Life of Twins did manage to snatch the peak audience in the final fifteen minutes of the all-important 9pm to 10pm slot.
The programme, with Chris and Xand van Tulleken, ended on a high of 4.6 million viewers and secured a 18.7% overall audience share.
Elsewhere, Channel 4’s popular The Secret Millionaire banked third place in the peak-hour ratings war with 2.3 million viewers and a 10.5% share.
BBC Two’s Dragons’ Den: On Tour followed with 1.6 million average viewers and a 7.5% share, while Five’s Farmer Wants a Wife attracted 703,000 viewers and a 3.2% share.
Meanwhile, BBC3’s coverage of the MOBO Awards 2009, which was presented by Reggie Yates, peaked with almost 559,000 viewers at 10.45pm.
