ITV1’s Monroe secured the all-important peak-hour ratings with a high of more than five million viewers last night.
The third episode of the series attracted over 4.6 million average viewers and a 20.3% audience share during the hour-long slot, seeing off competition from BBC One’s new Panorama documentary.
My Big Fat Fake Wedding pulled in more than 3.5 million peak viewers and a 15.4% average audience share for BBC One between 9pm and 10pm.
At the same time, Channel 4’s last minute documentary about Japan’s Tsunami achieved an average audience of 2.2 million viewers and a 9.9% share, while BBC Two’s The British at Work picked up 1.2 million viewers and a 5.6% share.
On Channel 5, the Clint Eastwood western High Plains Drifter banked just over a million viewers and a 5.3% share from 9pm onwards.
In the early-evening slot, Eastenders won the highest ratings of the night – peaking with more than 8.5 million viewers.
