TV Overnights: Midsomer Murders secures the peak slot

ITV1’s Midsomer Murders won its 8pm to 10pm slot last night with 5.5 million viewers and a 24.4% share.

BBC One’s Crimewatch, showing from 9pm to 10pm, secured 3.5 million viewers and a 15.4% share – down on last week’s 4 million and a share of 17.9%.

Elsewhere, Channel 4’s Ultimate Big Brother attracted 2.6 million viewers and an 11.6% share, and Five’s NCIS won 1.3 million viewers and a 5.6% share.

BBC Two’s The Big School Lottery managed an audience of 1.2 million, and a share of 5.4%.

Earlier in the evening, ITV1 won the 7pm to 8pm slot with Emmerdale (7pm to 7.30pm) winning 6.3 million viewers and a 34.3% share, and The Unforgettable Mollie Sugden (7.30pm to 8pm) securing 4.8 million viewers and a 25.2% share.

BBC One won the highest ratings for most of the morning and afternoon – with ITV1’s new breakfast show Daybreak attracting 874,000 viewers and a 21.5% share, dropping from Monday’s 985,000 viewers and 24.2% share.
