BBC One’s Motorway Cops won the 9pm to 10pm slot last night, peaking at 5 million viewers, and with an average audience of 4.5 million and average share of 20.5%.
This was despite competition from ITV1’s Real Crime with Mark Austin, which secured an average of 2.4 million viewers and a 10.8% share.
Elsewhere, BBC Two’s Digging for Britain attracted 2.2 million viewers and gained a 10.1% share, while Channel 4’s The Hunt for Britain’s Sex Traffickers secured 1.6 million viewers and a 7.5% share.
Five’s film, The Shepherd, aired from 9pm to 10pm managing an audience of 1.1 million and a share of 5.6%.
Earlier in the evening, ITV1’s two-part Emmerdale won its 7pm to 7.30pm slot with 5.9 million viewers and a 32.3% share, and its 8pm to 8.30pm slot with 6.3 million viewers and a 29.3% share.
BBC One’s Eastenders won its 7.30pm to 8pm slot with 7.4 million viewers and a 37.3% share, and ITV1’s Coronation Street won its 8.30pm to 9pm slot with 6.9 million viewers and a 29.7% share.
BBC One won most the slots for the morning and early afternoon, as usual, with BBC Two and ITV1 winning the highest ratings in the late afternoon.
