TV Overnights: Penultimate Monroe wins 5m viewers

The penultimate episode of ITV1’s latest prime time drama Monroe peaked with almost 5 million viewers during last night’s 9pm to 10pm slot.

The drama attracted more than 4.4 million average viewers and a 19.4% audience share to claim the all-important peak-hour ratings.

BBC One’s Crimewatch came next in line with 4.1 million peak viewers and a 17.3% average share, followed by BBC Two’s Neil Morrissey series, which pulled in a high of 2 million viewers.

On Channel 4, Love Thy Neighbour achieved an average audience of just 918,000 viewers and a 4% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.

Meanwhile, Channel 5’s 9 o’clock film Exit Wounds picked up 1.3 million average viewers and a 6.6% share.

The soaps dominated the pre-watershed slots. BBC One’s Eastenders claimed the highest ratings of the night with more than 8 million peak viewers, though ITV1’s Coronation Street wasn’t far behind with 7.8 million viewers.
