TV Overnights: The Deep secures top spot again

BBC One’s The Deep secured the peak slot of 9pm to 10pm again, managing to attract 4.5 million viewers and a share of 19.8%. This is down on last week’s episode, which achieved an audience of nearly 5 million, and a 21.9% share.

ITV came in second with long-running police drama The Bill, which managed 2.9 million viewers, and a 12.8% share – slightly up on last week’s 2.6 million viewers and 11.6% share.

Meanwhile, Five’s CSI: Miami secured 1.9 million viewers and a 6.4% share, and Channel 4’s Who Knows Best achieved an audience of 1.4 million viewers, and a 5.9% share.

BBC Two’s comedy double bill consisted of That Mitchell and Webb Look (9pm to 9.30pm), which attracted 1.5 million viewers and a 6.6% share, and Shooting Stars (9.30pm to 10pm), which also secured 1.5 million viewers, and a 6.4% share.

BBC One won the 8pm to 9pm slot, with Holby City achieving an average audience of 5.4 million, and a 24.1% share.

The 7pm to 8pm slot was split between ITV1’s Emmerdale (7.pm to 7.30pm), which had 5.9 million viewers and a 31.2% share, and BBC One’s Eastenders (7.30pm to 8pm), which attracted 7.8 million viewers and a 38.7% share.

BBC One won most of the slots during the morning television schedule, with BBC Two taking over in the afternoon.
