Channel 4’s much-talked about Top Boy debuted with a peak audience of 1.3 million viewers last night.
The new drama, which is due to conclude this Thursday, started on a high of 1.3 million peak viewers at 10pm but settled on a average figure of one million viewers and a 6.4% share during the full hour-long slot.
At 9pm, ITV1’s Doc Martin beat BBC One’s Young Apprentice to the top spot, attracting more than 8.5 million peak viewers to Alan Sugar’s 4.2 million.
BBC Two’s Origins of Us pulled in 1.4 million average viewers and a 5.5% share during the peak-hour, while Channel 4’s Attack of the Trip Advisors picked up 1.1 million average viewers and a 4.6% share.
Channel 5’s new The Hotel Inspector settled on a lower 957,000 viewers and a 3.8% share in the 9pm to 10pm slot.
In the early-evening slots the soaps dominated the ratings. BBC One’s Eastenders hit a high of 8.2 million viewers, whileITV1’s Coronation Street peaked with 8.3 million.
