BBC One’s Waking the Dead banked the all-important peak-hour ratings with 6 million viewers last night.
The second and final episode of the series attracted over 5.9 million average viewers and a 23.5% audience share during the 9pm to 10pm slot, overshadowing ITV1’s second Law & Order: UK.
The ITV1 drama with Bradley Walsh and Freema Agyeman pulled in 3.8 million average viewers and a 15.5% share, peaking with 4.4 million viewers at 9pm.
At the same time, Channel 4’s popular fly on the wall documentary One Born Every Minute achieved an average audience of 2.5 million viewers and a 10.2% share.
On BBC Two, the new two part series The Secret War on Terror picked up 1.1 million average viewers and a 4.5% share.
Meanwhile, Five’s 9 o’clock film Chaos – a police thriller starring Jason Statham and Ryan Phillippe, settled on 958,000 viewers and a 4.7% average audience share.
Earlier on in the evening, the soaps dominated the pre-watershed ratings. BBC One’s Eastenders banked 9.1 million viewers, though ITV1’s Coronation Street secured the highest ratings of the night – peaking with a slightly higher 9.2 million viewers at 8.30pm.
