TV Relaxed Rules Likely

According to a report in today’s FT by Raymond Snoddy, ITV companies involved in takeovers believe that the Office of Fair Trading is likely to allow one company to control up to 25% of all UK television advertising.

This would be a relaxation on current limits, set at 25% of ITV only advertising revenue. If the market were redefined as all television advertising, to include Channel 4 and non-terrestrial then only a modest reorganisation of the sales house would be needed.
