Mediatel’s estimate of TV revenue for August gives a combined ITV and C4 revenue figure of £138,673,667 – an increase of 9% on August 1994. Individually C4 showed more than twice the percentage increase of ITV with a revenue figure of £30.97m up 17.1% year on year compared to ITV’s £107.7m – up 7.1% year on year. The ITV/C4 split remains the fairly standard 78:22.
In terms of share of revenue all contractors showed year on year improvements. Overall the combined London stations performed best, up 2.10 percentage points on 1994 with the same number of trading days. Other good performances came from the combined Granada/Border – up 1.84% points and Central – up 1.09% points.
