TV Revenue – February 1999
Agency estimates for February 1999 put total terrestrial TV ad revenue (including GMTV) at £204.01 million. Year on year ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 all show increases in their ad revenue whilst GMTV shows a loss of revenue.
ITV’s total revenue was up by 16.7%, C4’s rose by 8.9% and C5’s saw a rise of 42.2% on February 1998. GMTV is down 5.5% and satellite television enjoyed a year on year increase of 30.3%.
Amongst the ITV franchises, Central and LWT were the only groups to show any real increase in their share of ad-based income compared to this time last year. Carlton and Central retain the largest show of the Network’s ad revenue with 17.4% and 16.7% respectively.
