TV Revenue – June 1999
Total terrestrial television revenue for June 1999 (including GMTV) stood at £204.7 million, according to agency estimates. ITV total revenue rose 7.3% year on year, Channel 4’s was up 12.0% and Channel 5’s rose by 34.0%. Revenue for GMTV continued to drop in June, this time by 2.1%, according to the estimates. Total revenue for satellite television was up by 27.4% year on year.
In terms of share amongst the ITV franchises, Central took the largest slice with a 16.6% share. Carlton’s share dropped back year on year by 3.4% points to 14%, but still retained the second largest share of revenue.
