TV Revenue Round-Up – February 2000
Total terrestrial revenue for February 2000 (including GMTV) came in at £221 million, according to agency estimates. Of this, revenue for the ITV Network rose 7.7% compared to February 1999; Channel 4’s revenue increased by 7.5%, and Channel 5 saw its ad revenue grow annually 16%. GMTV saw a 7.2% increase in its revenue. Total satellite for the month increased 27% on last year.
Of the ITV franchises, Carlton took the greatest share of revenue, at 16.7%, down 0.7% points on February 1999. Central is the second largest franchise with 16.2%, down 0.5% points since last year. The only significant increase in franchise revenue share in a year on year analysis came from LWT, which rose 1.3% points to 12.6%.
