TV Round-Up – February 1999
Impacts on ITV were up across the board during February. The biggest was once again in the Housewives/Children audience category, up 7.3%.
Channel 4 impacts increased in all categories bar Women, which dropped slightly by 0.5%. Channel 5 continues to improve its impacts in all categories.
Costs for all the main terrestrial channels rose year on year in February, across all audience categories. The only exception was ABC1 Adults on Channel 5, for which CPT dropped by 5.2%.
In terms of viewing, ITV comes out on top for February, reporting a slight increase in its sharing of viewing, up by 0.1%. BBC1, on the other hand was down by 1.2% on February 1998. BBC2 slipped back slightly and C4 gained a little. Channel 5’s share growth continues, but cable/satellite gains in viewing halted this month.
