Impacts ITV’s impacts were down for all audience categories year on year in June. This was due to the especially high number of impacts last year caused by the Network’s coverage of the World Cup. Men dropped back by 19.1% to 8,714 and ABC1 Adults were down 12.9% to 8,209. Conversely, Channel 4 enjoyed increases in impacts across the board, again as a result of lower figures last year as people tuned in to the World Cup on ITV. For C4, Men were up 13% and ABC1 Adults were up by 10.5%.

Costs Per Thousand Year on costs are up for most categories across the three commercial terrestrial channels. All audiences categories on ITV record CPT increases – ABC1 Adults are up 23.1%. CPTs for Men on ITV, in line with the fall in impacts, are up 32.6%.

Channel 4 shows increases in costs for all audiences except Men, which are down 0.9%; Channel 5 shows ABC1 Adults, Men and Adults becoming cheaper whilst Housewives/Children CPTs grew 14.9%.

Viewing The two mainstream stations, BBC1 and ITV, are the only channels to report a fall in viewing share year on year in June. Once again the World Cup will have affected normal viewing patterns and should be taken into account when comparing year on year figures. ITV, which took the majority share this month, was down 4.5% points; BBC1 fell 1.7%. Alongside this, the cable and satellite channels continue to entice viewers with share up 2.7%.
