TV Times Gets New Look Following ABC Drop

IPCtx has announced the details of a revamp for its flagship listings title, TV Times.

The magazine, which saw circulation decline by 10.4% year on year in the latest set of ABC results, will feature a number of changes, developed since Mike Hollingsworth took over as editor earlier this year.

On sale on 17 September, the new-look title will get a style make-over with easier to use listings pages, as well additions such as a new life and leisure section designed to reflect the increasing popularity of such shows on TV.

Commenting on the re-vamp, Hollingsworth said: “We’ve made the magazine easier to use, more fun and more inclusive of what our readers are watching on TV, while maintaining its mix of news, views and big star interviews. The better use of colour in our listings pages makes navigating the vast array of programmes on TV a much easier proposition.”

Earlier this month BBC Worldwide appointed former launch editor of Eve magazine, Gill Hudson, as the new editor of its listings title, Radio Times (see BBC Worldwide’s Radio Times Gets New Editor). The magazine, which was boosted by a recent TV and radio advertising campaign (see Radio Times Gets Marketing Boost), saw circulation fall by 3.8% year on year to 1,155,064, according to ABC data for the first half of 2002.
