TV Viewing Levels Have Stabilised, Says BARB
![]()
Viewing levels of adults aged 16-34 have stabilised following the introduction of the new BARB panel at the beginning of the year, according to the audience research board.
Data for the week ending 17 February shows average total television viewing hours per week for this age group to be in line with recent average weekly viewing at 21.22 hours per week.
The new BARB figures have also revealed that last week total commercial viewing levels for the 16-34 year old category were 9.05 hours per week, a figure close to the Christmas holiday week average of 9.33 hours per week. This, BARB says, was largely due to the popularity of Pop Idol (see Pop Idol Is A Hit For ITV), but adds that total commercial viewing levels have returned to an average of 8 hours per week and that viewing for Channels 4 and 5 havre remained constant.
