TV Viewing Summary – Di Beats Street

BBC1’s exclusive interview with Princess Diana has predictably topped the programmes ratings list. The Panorama special was watched by 22.77 million exactly 5 million more than the second programme on the list, Monday’s edition of Coronation Street. The first part of the Beatles Anthology, which traced the rise of the Fab Four, only appears at number 9 on the list watched by 14.35 million; ITV had been hoping for big audiences after spending a reported £6 million acquiring the television rights.

Overall Television viewing for the week has increased by 2.1% when compared to the same week last year; this is the third week in a row that television viewing has increased year on year.

In Astra Panel homes the channel that increased the most on its previous week total was BBC1, which was up 50 minutes from 6 hours and 3 minutes for the week ending 19/11/95 to 6 hours and 53 minutes for the week ending 26/11/95.
