Total television viewing for the week ending 7th May has fallen sharply on the same week last year, down by 12.7%. and down 15% on last week’s figures. The combined viewing figures for ITV and Channel 4 have also fallen, down 16.4% on last year’s figure. ITV on its own has fallen the most, down by 18.8% compared to the same week last year.
Top non-soap opera programmes on each channel were Goodnight Sweetheart on BBC1, Peak Practice on ITV and E.R on Channel 4.
The National Lottery has fallen to its lowest ever figure, 10.83m this week, compared to 13.51m last week; this represents a fall of 19.9%.
