TV Viewing Summary – W/E 08/12/96
The Whoopi Goldberg comedy film Sister Act has proven to be more popular with viewers second time round. When it was shown on Christmas Day of last year 8.12 million people tuned in, while this time it achieved an audience of 10.28 million.
The most improved programme of the week, in terms of added viewing figures, was the BBC1 comedy Thin Blue Line. For the week ending December 8th it attracted 11.04 million viewers, an increase of 2.05 million on last week’s figure.
Heartbeat was the most watched programme of the week with 17.55 million viewer, just ahead of Monday’s edition of Coronation Street which got 17.36 million.
