TV Viewing Summary W/E 18/04/99
A clutch of new programmes enter this week’s top thirty list, which is dominated by ITV product. The most successful of the new programmes was ITV’s Where The Heart Is, which pulled in an audience of 11.7 million and a consolidated viewing share of 44%. Also doing well are the return of BBC1’s They Think It’s All Over, which was watched by 9.6 million people, and Bad Blood which attracted 8.2 million viewers.
Several one-off specials also attracted good audiences this week with ITV’s The Way They Were performing best with 9.9 million viewers. There were healthy audiences for Two Strangers and a Wedding and Britain’s Richest People, which had respective audiences of 9.3 million and 8.2 million viewers.
ITV’s new drama series, The Last Train, has continued to pull in viewers. The third episode attracted 8.8 million people, following on from last week’s opening episodes which had 9.2 and 8.7 million viewers.
