Tv Viewing Survey – Gardening Enjoyed More Than Sex
According to a survey into TV Viewing carried out by Carat Research, Channel 4’s Garden Club is enjoyed more by its viewers than The Good Sex Guide. 40% of the Garden Club audience rated it as very enjoyable compared with only 14% for The Good Sex Guide.
The survey covered 60 TV programmes during the last two weeks in October. 1500 people were asked questions covering their level of attention, their degree of enjoyment and their motivation in watching it.
The highest rating programmes in levels of attentiveness are drama series, with around three quarters of Cracker and Soldier Soldier viewers paying full attention to them. Levels are much lower in the morning; only 15% of breakfast viewers say they are paying full attention, and This Morning scores18%.
In terms of the ‘Magic Moment’ category, which is people saying they specially chose to watch the programme and then rated it 5 out of 5 in terms of enjoyment, top of the list was Soldier Soldier, with 61%. Strike it Lucky with 44% beat both Coronation Street and Eastenders, scoring 41% and 37% respectively.
