Atom Publishing is preparing to launch a film magazine which will be given away free at all United Cinemas International (UCI) venues. UCI has awarded a three year contract to Atom to publish the magazine for UCI customers throughout the UK and Eire.
The first issue of Blast is planned for April 1998 and will circulate at around 235,000, aiming to catch the million or so 16-24 year olds who visit the cinemas each month. Atom Publishing is hoping to co-operate with Carlton Screen Advertising to offer integrated packages linking advertising in the magazine with that on-screen. Blast will also be editorially linked to the UCI Website.
The title is to be limited to 13 pages of advertising and will be ABC audited from its first issue.
