The Government’s Green Paper “Our Healthier Nation” ties the Department of Health to preparing “a new strategy on alcohol to set out a practical framework for a responsible approach”. Whilst the Department of Health has admitted that this is not a Ministerial priority issue at present, concern has been expressed within the advertising and alcoholic drinks industry that a much vaunted submission by Alcohol Concern (due at the end of the year) must be balanced by input from the industry.
