UK: Direct mail soars again

The volume of direct mail in the UK has exceeded one billion items in three months for the first time. According to the Direct Mail Information Service the period January-March (inclusive) 1998 saw 1.1 billion pieces of mail posted, almost 18 per cent more than for the same period in 1997, while total expenditure was, at £622.5 million, more than 30 per cent higher
