UK: ITC permits masthead broadcasting

The Independent Television Commission, which regulates commercial television broadcasting in the UK, is to permit “masthead” programming on analogue terrestrial television, as a result of pressure from publishers and their representative organisations. Such broadcasting, which allows well-established media brands in publishing to extend their brands into the arena of TV, is already permitted in the UK for cable and satellite TV.
