UK Publishing Companies Announce Staffing Changes
Two major UK publishers, The National Magazine Company (Natmags) and IPC Media’s TV publishing division IPC tx have announced departmental changes.
Natmags has announced the restructure of its central promotions department, which has been renamed promotions and special projects. It is hoped that the new department will enable the media group to provide a better service for advertisers and clients across a range of its titles.
The group’s commercial director Nadia Dawson said: “The new structure enables us to offer the very highest quality service by having specialists in each market and sector.”
This follows the decision to create sales, project management and art teams for each of the company’s recently created magazine groups (see Natmags Announces New Brands-Oriented Structure). Donald Ingam, in the newly created position of creative director, will work with promotions directors on the maintaining levels of customer service.
Meanwhile IPC tx have appointed Pippa Pollard, currently business development manager at BBC Worldwide, to the newly created role of brand and business director. She will be responsible for increasing business and revenue growth across the IPC tx portfolio and will head up a programme to develop new products.
Managing director Caroline Ward said: “Pollard will be working with IPC ad directors to develop more innovative ways of promoting our leading brands.”
The IPCtx’s portfolio includes TV Times, What’s On TV and Satellite Week.
Natmag’s young woman’s title Cosmopolitan re-emerged as the leading publication in the women’s monthly sector in the latest ABC audit (see Women’s Monthly Sector Continues Decline, As Two Thirds Of Titles See Falls) while IPC tx’s What’s On TV continues to dominate in the TV listings sector with average weekly sales of 1.7m (see Heat Blazes A Trail Across TV Sector).
