UKTV History is to be re-branded Yesterday

UKTV Logo UKTV History confirmed it will be re-branded Yesterday from early next year, with a new emphasis on modern events.

A re-launch of UKTV’s factual channel group, which also includes UKTV People and UKTV Documentary, has been planned since August.

UKTV People and UKTV Documentary will turn into Blighty and Eden under the new re-brand, according to reports.

Yesterday is set to bring the channel up-to-date, with modern series such as Seven Ages of Rock and The Alan Clark Diaries being added to the programme schedule, along with new acquisitions including International Terrorism.

Matthew Littleford, UKTV controller, said: “Yesterday sets out to redefine what a history channel can be about. We promise to deliver a channel packed with shows that offer a more inclusive, accessible and entertaining approach to the past.

“This change adds to the excitement already created by our new brands Eden and Blighty and together our three new Factual channels will be a major draw for audience into the documentary section of the EPG,” he added.

Richard Kingsbury, currently the channel head of UKTV History and UKTV Food, will continue in his role and lead Yesterday through its re-launch.
