UKTV lands fourth Freeview slot

UKTV, the commercial television network in the UK and co-owned by BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive Inc., confirmed yesterday that it has secured a deal for a fourth DTT channel slot.

Dave Ja Vu, a catch up service for entertainment channel Dave, will hold Freeview channel 25 for a limited time from January 2013 while UKTV firms up permanent plans for the channel 25 slot.

Really, Dave and Yesterday already air on Freeview while channels Watch, GOLD and Eden are currently available only on pay-TV platforms.

Dave Ja Vu’s parent channel Dave has enjoyed huge success this year with its own original commission Red Dwarf X, which has become the network’s highest rating programme of the year, attracting 2.1 million viewers to its premiere episode. Viewers will be able to access Dave Ja Vu on Freeview Channel 25 early next year.
