Ulster Pulls Out Of TV3

Ulster TV yesterday said that it was no longer part of the TV3 consortium which plans to launch a national commercial TV channel in the Irish Republic *Ireland To Have Third Television Station. The broadcaster was putting up 60% of the channel’s finance but said that it was not being offered sufficient control in TV3 for the investment it was making. This puts the entire TV3 concept in doubt, though no one at the consortium was available for comment.
Ulster also announced interim results which saw pre-tax profits rise 27% to £4.67m. There was a slight increase in turnover, which was up from £16.8m to £17m.
