Underlying Inflation Rate Rises During November

According to figures released by the Office of National Statistics, the underlying rate of inflation rose during November, to 2.2%. Despite the rise, it is still comfortably below the target of 2.5% set by the government.

The headline rate of inflation also increased, from 3.1% in October to 3.2% in November.

The Retail Prices Index for November was 172.1.
