United News & Media Take London Papers Off The Market

United News & Media has announced a reorganisation of its businesses. Two businesses, formerly in its regional newspaper division, will in future form part of United Advertising Publications. The two businesses concerned are the portfolio of Spanish titles principally the leading Madrid-based advertising periodical, Segundamano; and the free London based newspapers, including the Yellow Advertiser and Informer series.

United was originally intending to sell the London free papers and the group attracted a number of interested buyers *Free-Weeklies Sale On Hold. However, the papers have recently seen an upsurge in trading and United has now decided to retain the group.

The changes will bring United’s European advertising-based publications under a single integrated management, allowing it to focus on penetrating key advertising markets.
