Unity Wins Major Account
Fledgling media planning consultancy Unity has announced that it has won the planning account for Carphone Warehouse, which has an ad budget of around £14 million.
The win adds weight to the argument, first espoused by Martin Sorrell, that specialisation is the way forward for the advertising industry (subscribers see MRG Conference Dublin 1997 – Opening Speech). Unity was set up in the middle of last year by Andy Tilley, Derek Morris and Ivan Pollard (subscribers see July 4 Day Launch Date For New Independent) to concentrate solely on media planning. It has also won a place on the pitchlist for BT’s £160m strategic planning business.
