US digital agency Circ.us is launching a new social TV platform that will enable viewers to experience their favourite programmes as if they were live events.
The platform, called TV Dinner, is based on the logic of a massive multiplayer online game that lets users share conversations about shows they are watching in real-time while interacting with self-expression tools and gaming elements, according to one of the founders John Swords.
The initial version of TV Dinner has been created for the iPad but is only the first of many ‘iterations that will expand to incorporate other elements and features that change and enhance the way TV viewers watch their favourite programmes’.
