ValueClick Lands Ad Deal With Streetmap

Digital marketing company, ValueClick, has been appointed by Streetmap to handle all of its advertising sales.
The deal, which was signed after a six-month testing period, will see ValueClick’s media sales team manage all of Streetmap.co.uk‘s advertising inventory.
Kate Sutton, commercial director of Streetmap, commented: “Advertising is vital to us- the majority of our users access map services for free, so advertising accounts for 65% of the site’s income.”
ValueClick has been implementing a number of strategies to boost advertising on Streetmap including geographically targeting advertising and an initiative that allows advertisers to pay according to the response generated by the advert. According to ValueClick, Streetmap’s advertising revenues increased by 500% during the six month testing period.
Internet advertising packages are becoming increasingly specialised and tailored to advertisers needs. In the US America Online’s beleaguered advertising unit is emulating a strategy used in the sale of television advertising by selling advertisers access to audience based on peak viewing times.
