LWT has had variations to its licence approved by the ITC. The variations apply to minimum amounts of regional children’s and arts programmes required to be broadcast under the terms of LWT’s licence. The changes result from a reorganisation of the Friday early evening schedule by LWT which makes it difficult to accommodate a planned children’s information programme.
The variations requested by LWT and agreed by the ITC are that the minimum requirement for regional children’s information should be reduced from 25 minutes to 18 minutes per week (average over the year); that the requirement for regional arts programmes should be increased by the same amount i.e from 8 minutes to 15 minutes per week.
