Vauxhall And Opel To Launch Euro ’96 Net Site

Vauxhall and Opel have awarded The Lowe Group and The Guardian the task of creating a new web site – Eurosoccer.com – to support their official sponsorship of the Euro ’96 football tournament. The investment is the largest to date in a European sports website and is likely to be in excess of £300,000.

The site, which goes live in April, will encompass every aspect of this year’s European soccer championship and will provide a ‘multi-lingual global communication forum for soccer fans.’

The project will be run from both the London office of the Lowe Group and The Guardian’s New Media Lab, the electronic publishing development unit which produces the GO2 web-site.
