Viacom Secures Sega For MTV Sponsorship
![]()
Viacom Brand Solutions has secured Sega to sponsor its new show Wildboyz in order to promote its new Worms 3D game.
The series, which begins later this month features Steve-O and Chris Pontius from infamous stunt show Jackass. The show will follow them around Africa where they will perform “wince worthy stunts involving native wild animals.”
The Wildboyz sponsorship deal is the sole TV advertising deal in a much wider campaign for the launch of Worms 3D.
Commenting on the campaign, Matthew Woodley, marketing director of Sega Europe, said: “Wildboyz on MTV is an excellent audience fit for Worms 3D. The show has a humorous fast-paced and quirky feel which appeals directly to the audience who have enjoyed the Worms game and are eagerly looking forward to the next instalment. This is a high-profile opportunity to exploit the links between the two brands and bring Worms 3D to a wider audience.”
Dan Salem, commercial director of Viacom Brand Solutions, added: “This is a fantastic fit, not only of the two parent companies MTV and SEGA, but of show to product. Worms 3D’s wacky style and irreverent humour will appeal directly to the Wildboyz audience and vice-versa.”
Viacom Brand Solutions recently launched its first online multinational ad deal for Lego which will run across Nickelodeon’s websites (see VBS Launches First Multinational Online Ad Deal).
