The Guardian’s ex-global revenue director, Tim Gentry, has been hired by TV and video software specialists Videology as SVP of advertiser and agency for EMEA.
Gentry will commence his role in early March, reporting into Videology’s EMEA managing director, Jana Eisenstein, and will lead a team of over 40 people across the region.
“Our EMEA business has delivered consistently strong growth over the past 6 years in terms of revenue, client diversity and product progression,” said Eisenstein.
“As agencies and advertisers increasingly embrace programmatic technologies, Videology has emerged as a market leader for TV and video advertising solutions and Tim’s experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow our presence in the region.”
Gentry, who helped create the world’s first publisher-side programmatic sales team at the Guardian, will be part of Videology’s EMEA leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing Videology’s existing agency and advertiser clients across Europe.
“After 20 brilliant years at the heart of digital transformation at the Guardian, I was keen to transition that experience into a new environment,” Gentry said. “For me, the most exciting area of digital disruption today is the convergence of TV and digital, and Videology has been pioneering change in this sector from its inception.
“The team is leading the way at this crucial point in the journey to bring advanced technology and data to television. I’m delighted to be joining Jana, Ryan and the team to help build upon that position.”
