Viewers Ignore TV Ads, Says Research

Most TV adverts go over the heads of viewers, according to research expected to be published next week. Details of the findings by the London Business School have been released to the BBC, which reported the news on today’s Breakfast show on BBC1.

The small study filmed people as they watched TV at home to study their behaviour when adverts came on. It found that 95% of adverts were ignored by viewers. However, those involved in the buying and selling of TV advertising maintain that it is still an effective way of reaching consumers.
