Virgin – London Radio Launches Today

As of 6am this morning, Londoners can now listen to Virgin Radio on the FM frequency. Virgin 105.8 will share DJ’s and music with the national AM station although differences will exist with regard to information output ie. news, travel and sport, as well as the nightly London entertainment show, ‘Alive in London’.

Hosted by Rowland Rivron and Paul Coyte the show is billed as; ‘radio’s answer to the Letterman show, ie. wacky, wild and weird.’ The show will initially be transmitted from the station’s Golden Square premises, but will move to its permanent home at the Virgin Megastore in Oxford Street in May. The show will compete head on with Capital Radio’s ‘The Way It Is’ and Kiss FM’s ‘The Word’ (6:45pm to 7:30pm).
