Virgin Media TV Appoints First Head Of Digital

Virgin Media Logo Virgin Media Television has announced two new senior appointments to strengthen its commercial team, including Ivan Ali-Khan to the newly-created position of head of digital.

David Cuff has also joined the company as commercial director, having previously worked at Flextech Television and Initiative Media as well as running his own consultancy business, Cuff Media.

Cuff will be responsible for Virgin’s commercial strategy across the full range of the business, while Ali-Khan will be focusing on Virgin’s multiplatform commercial and creative strategies.

Ali-Khan has been tasked with developing Virgin’s channel and programme brands across broadband, on-demand and mobile.

He has worked as head of media planning at Virgin Media TV since January 2006, having previously held the broadcast director post at MPG.

Jonathan Webb, managing director of Virgin Media Television, said: “For VMtv, the future is going to be about two things: the strength of our brands, and the scope for our digital ambitions. These appointments are the first steps in reshaping our business to meet these challenges.”

Virgin Media TV currently has seven wholly-owned channels, including Living, Bravo, Trouble and Virgin1.

Both Ali-Khan and Cuff will start in their new roles immediately.
