Virgin Net has launched a Travel Channel on its website, http://www.virgin.net/, offering users travel guides, information on holiday packages and a hotel search facility. The Channel’s travel guide has been produced in association with Lonely Planet, publishers of travel handbooks.
The Travel Channel was initially intended for launch in April when the Virgin site was revamped but the launch was held back in order to build up more substantial content. It is being promoted through banner ads on the Metro and Travel sections of The Times website.
