Virgin Radio Offers Free Advertising

Virgin Radio is offering charities the chance to advertise free of charge from April 1 to 30, the station’s official launch date. The Radio Authority has demanded that no paid-for advertising should be transmitted during the test period, so Richard Branson is offering the transmission time to charitable organisations.
The Royal Mail, meanwhile, will be the first to advertise on Virgin 1215 when it launches, having been picked out of a pool of 10 initial advertisers.
